How To Make The Coveted Pink Drink From Starbucks

How To Make The Coveted Pink Drink From Starbucks

Want to have your favorite Starbucks Secret Menu Pink Drink for half the cost? Me too!

My Starbucks spending habits were getting out of control is why I decided to see if I could make the drink on my own. I can suck down a 30 oz Trenta in a matter of 15 minutes and want another one right after it!

I did some serious trial and error on trying to find the ingredients that make this beautiful pink and white swirl low calorie drink.

The Pink Drink from Starbucks has a light amount of caffeine from green tea. The at home version gives you caffeine from the refresher in the mix. If you don’t want the caffeine you can always use a drink mixer that doesn’t have any.

Here is a list of items that you need to make the yummy Pink Drink at home!

Coconut Milk

Starbucks Hibiscus Refresher

Fresh/Frozen or Freeze Dried Strawberries

Tazo Passion Tea

Ice

Let me start out by saying that when I first started trying to make this drink at home, I went through a lot of trial and error. So many recipes I saw have exact measurements and while it gives you a start, they were either too sweet or not sweet enough. Everyone has different taste buds.

What I like about The Pink Drink is that it’s that happy medium of sweet - and I normally like my coffee and drinks to be so sweet that my teeth hurt.

So in the following directions to make this Pink Drink, you are probably thinking...but how much??? I am giving you approximate measurements. Reason being that you can customize it to be how you like it.

Let’s Get Started:

If you can’t find the Tea already pre-made, you can always make the tea as is says . It’s normally made hot, so I make it first so that it has time to cool.

Secondly, I mix one Hibiscus refresher  in the 16 oz bottle of water.

Mix the passion tea with the Hibiscus refresher in your cup - one third of the way. Give it a taste test until you get a sweet taste. I personally add the refresher mix a little at a time. The Passion tea has no sweetner so if you add too much refresher it takes away the passion tea flavor.

Once you have the tea mixture the way you like it.  Throw in as much ice that you prefer in your cup for your Pink Drink.

Add a handful of freeze dried, fresh or frozen strawberries, pour the coconut milk to the top of the mix and watch your pink swirly deliciousness come to life!

Our homemade Starbucks Pink Drink!

For me - I like to add a little more refresher to the Passion tea. The reason is because that is where the sweetness is coming from. When you pour the coconut milk it can dilute the sweetness and I still like a bit of sweetness.

The second reason I add a bit more refresher to make my Pink Drink is because that is where the small addition of caffeine is coming from as well.

Try it out for yourself and let me know how you like it! I would love to hear if you make some Starbucks favorites at home!
